About Us
Our Background
Jaag Welfare Movement, founded in 1997, is a dedicated non-governmental organization committed to community development and empowerment. Recognizing that true development arises from raising awareness, Jaag focuses on enlightening individuals, especially women and children, about their rights and encouraging them to take charge of their development. Since its inception, Jaag Welfare Movement has been registered with the Social Welfare Department, embarking on a journey of positive change.
Here at Jaag Welfare Movement, we are committed to enable women, children and Marginalized communities especially Older People to acquire greater access to knowledge, resources and institutions and Influence attitudes and behaviour for a social environment responsive to women’s concerns and people-centred issues.
Leadership: The organization has had a dynamic leadership over the years. Mr. Nazir Ahmad Lar is the Founder President, who laid the foundation of Jaag Welfare Movement. Subsequently, the presidency has been assumed by Molana Maqsood Ahmad, Mr. Muhammad Ramzan Jatala Advocate, and Mrs. Rehana Yasmeen, making her the first woman President. The organization continues to evolve under visionary leadership. Recently Ms Sajida Kousar was elected its President and Abdul Rub Farooqi is working as Executive Director.

In 1998, it was registered with the Social Welfare Department under the Reg. # DD-SW(BD) 98-382 dated 29-08-1998.
Objectives

Health and Hygiene Education: Provide education on health and hygiene to empower the community.

Combat Child Labor and Violence Against Women (VAW): Raise awareness and take action against child labor and VAW, including child marriages.

Literacy and Skill Development: Enhance literacy and skill development in the program areas.

Empowerment: Empower people, especially older people and women through group formation, training, and networking for right-based programming.

Advocacy and Research: Undertake policy-level advocacy and conduct research on relevant themes.

Humanitarian Response: Undertake humanitarian response in emergencies and actions for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR).

Promote Peace: Facilitate mechanisms that promote tolerance, social harmony, and peace in society.

🌟 Vision
To become a leading model of community-owned organic agriculture in Pakistan, transforming rural livelihoods—especially for women—through sustainable farming, value-added production, and global market access.
🎯 Mission
To empower 72 women of Chak No. 169-NP by transforming 72 acres of land into a hub for organic cultivation, local enterprise, and export-quality food production—ensuring fair income, skill development, and social dignity through the “Seed to Product” model.
📌 Objectives

Sustainable Agriculture:
Cultivate 72 acres of land using certified organic methods, emphasizing soil health, biodiversity, and water conservation. -
Women Empowerment:
Train and economically uplift 72 women from Chak No. 169-NP Tehsil Sadiq Abad of District Rahim Yar Khan by involving them in the complete value chain—from seed sowing to product packaging and sale. -
Local to Global Market Integration:
Develop and brand organic products (e.g., grains, vegetables, herbal teas, goat milk items) for both domestic and international markets through JaDoo.pk. -
Skill & Capacity Building:
Conduct regular training sessions on organic farming, packaging, food safety standards, and e-commerce. -
Entrepreneurial Ownership:
Encourage cooperative or shared ownership models to ensure that women participants benefit directly from profits and decision-making. -
Product Innovation & Branding:
Create and promote high-quality, eco-friendly, and health-conscious organic food products under the JaDoo.pk label. -
Sustainability & Replicability:
Document and refine the “Seed to Product” model for replication in other villages and districts under Jaag’s umbrella.
Women & Girls Rights
Ending Violence Against Women & Child Marriage
JAAG intends to weaken the very foundations of inequality, injustice and poverty by mobilizing and organizing women for equal land rights, active political participation, economic empowerment and eradication of discrimination and violence against women. We will focus on strengthening and supporting community initiatives to access and use basic social services such as health, education, water, vocational skills and control over assets. Efforts will be made to increase and streamline women's political participation and effective engagement in the decision making processes at local and national levels. We will support and strengthen women's organizations and networks to facilitate their collective voice against discriminatory and oppressive laws and traditions.
Outcomes:
Women and girls have increased access to and control over basic social services.
Girls school enrolment and attainment is enhanced.
Women are increasingly demanding & asserting their rights for equitable resource distribution & participation.
Discriminatory and suppressive laws, policies and traditional practices are removed.
Laws, policies, systems and mechanisms are put in place to curb violence against women & girls especially some better laws to curb Child Marriages.
Education
The Right to Quality Education
JAAG is working to enable poor and marginalized communities to access, control and manage schools and improve quality of education, particularly for women and girls.
Strategic actions:
Campaigning and advocating for increased spending on education and accountability of state.
Supporting communities to secure and manage school facilities and interact with and influence policy makers.
Awareness and sensitization of communities, parents for enrollment of children into schools.
Awareness and sensitization for improving the roles of teachers and minimizing discriminatory attitudes at schools and communities toward poorest and minorities.
Campaign and movements for increase of education budget, facilities at schools and proper management.
Sensitization and campaign for creative and learning activities at village level schools.

Project Overview
The Creating Enabling Environment for Women Agriculture Workers (CEEWAW) project is a groundbreaking initiative led by Jaag Welfare Movement in partnership with AwazCDS-Pak. Our mission is to empower and uplift the lives of Women Agriculture Workers (WAWs) in Rahim Yar Khan, Punjab, and Sukkur, Sindh, Pakistan.
Our Objectives
